Initially the Directorate of Industrial Training was under the Department of Industries, Govt. of West Bengal. Later on this Directorate was brought under the Labour department, Govt. of West Bengal. Presently this Directorate is under the Department of Technical Education &amp; Training, Govt. of West Bengal. Under this Directorate there are 43 Govt. ITIs and 08 Govt. sponsored Industrial Training Centers (ITC).<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Practice-based Learning Process :<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<p>One of the features of polytechnic education is the strong emphasis on practice-based learning. Work attachments with industry partners are part of the curriculum and can vary in duration from six weeks to six months or longer for selected courses. These work attachments will enable you to gain valuable on-the-job experience and provide you with opportunities to work with industry experts. The facilities are excellent so think about it and do your best.<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Academic Knowledge :<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>In addition to academic knowledge, the Polytechnics also emphasize the acquisition of certain important life skills. These are the key skills of communication and presentation as well as problem-solving skills. These are intended to develop the students&#8217; confidence and critical faculties which are necessary if they are to be effective participants in society. Students will also learn to develop original and creative thinking and to behave as responsible young adults.
